It's hotting up to be a sizzler!

Butchers and meat producers across Hampshire are busy preparing for the Great Hampshire Sausage & Pie Competition 2013 being held tomorrow at the Holiday Inn in Winchester.

The competition is organised by Hampshire Fare and has attracted entries from more then 25 Hampshire butchers eager to showcase their products in front of an independent panel of expert and guest judges.

Categories include traditional pork sausages, hot pies, black pudding, charcuterie, ready-meals and meatballs and faggots.

Hampshire Fare member and founder of catering company 'I Cook - You Eat', Peter Lane, is excited to be entering the pie and ready meal categories:

'This competition is a fantastic opportunity to get feedback on our products from a panel of expert judges. It will showcase all of the top local food and bring together local producers.'

Whilst the event itself is closed to the public, the competition highlights the quality of products made by Hampshire's independent retail butchers and livestock farmers, and is a reliable guide for where to buy the best. Details of the winners will be published on after the competition.
